Tassal Group AIRLIE BEACH MARATHON FESTIVAL

20/21 JULY 2024

The 11th annual Tassal Group Airlie Beach Marathon Festival will be held on the 20th and 21st of July 2024.

The award-winning Tassal Group Airlie Beach Marathon Festival will be run over very similar courses to 2023 with minor adjustments at the beginning and turn around points.  The festival is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the 42.2, 21.1, 10 and 5km courses have all be formally measured by an A grade measurer and certified by AIMS and World Athletics. This means any world, country or state records can be recognised and it can also be used as an Olympic qualifier. The  North Queensland Championship Marathon is a unique four lap off road (run on concrete footpaths and boardwalks) standard marathon that provides your support team with the opportunity to cheer you on several times at one location.

The program this year will include a corporate team (maximum of 10) in the 5 km event.

The McDonald’s Magic Mile will be run on Saturday afternoon.

The Tassal Group Airlie Beach Marathon Festival is not possible without the support of our main sponsors and we encourage you to support them.  We thank them for their support and you can go to their websites by clicking on their logos on our Sponsor page1

Why choose the Tassal Group Airlie Beach Marathon Festival?

Airlie Beach is a beautiful tropical holiday destination in the Whitsundays, Northern Queensland, Australia and the home of two marinas and a local airport that provides easy access to the 74 Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. It is the launching pad for tourists to visit iconic destinations like Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and Heart Reef.

It is located in Queensland approximately 150km north of Mackay and 300km south of Townsville.

The scenery and climate in Airlie Beach during July is ideal for competing in the marathon festival.

The region is serviced by three airports (Proserpine – Whitsunday Coast, Hamilton Island and Mackay) with daily flights to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and close to the Bruce Highway that runs from Brisbane to Cairns.
